Microsoft Introduces Star Wars Branded Xbox 360

This past week nerds from across the galaxy gathered in San Diego for the annual Comic Con event. Over the years this particular Con has evolved from its humble beginnings solely dealing with comic books to now encompassing all forms of geekdom. Walking its halls and sitting on its panels you will see toys, books, television shows, movies, and even games receiving a great deal of attention. In recent years, many companies have used this fanboy festival to introduce the world to their new products, as Microsoft did this year.

These are not the droids you are looking for...

With a new Star Wars Kinect game on the way, Microsoft pulled out all the stops in this new limited edition Star Wars inspired Kinect bundle. First off, an R2-D2 inspired console, complete with blue lights that mimic those found on the iconic astro droid and start up/shut down sounds lifted straight from the movies.  The controller is modeled after C-3PO, human-cyborg relations, and includes its own homages to the character. If you look right underneath the polished gold in the U of the controller, you will notice wire patterning that resembles the C-3PO’s stomach. Also, the D-pad (which is one of the new “transforming” D-pads) is a bright silver, just like our favorite translator’s leg.

Besides the console and controller, you get a white Kinect sensor, a 320 GB hard drive, a copy of Kinect Star Wars, a copy of Kinect Adventures, and some exclusive downloadable content. While this package will set you back $450, there is a lot of stuff in this bundle, making it well worth the price. Pre-orders are available now, with release expected later this year.
