PSP owners who haven’t picked up some first-party Sony classics have a new and seriously cheap way to check out six older PSP titles with the introduction of PSP Dual Packs. Selling for $14.99 on UMD’s at retail or downloaded on the PlayStation Network.
Since the other two Dual Packs each feature a pair of shooters, the best bet for the family oriented gamer is the Secret Agent Clank/Daxter Dual Pack featuring Sony’s two greatest sidekicks in their own platforming adventures. The other two Dual Packs feature Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow & Killzone: Liberation, and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror & SOCOM: US Navy EALS: Fireteam Bravo.
I would imagine this will be the first of many Dual Packs that Sony will put out, and as the new titles available for the PSP completely dry up, these will help ease the transition to the PS Vita this Christmas. Hopefully other publishers will get in on the action with their own Dual Packs, such as the GTA Stories titles or the Final Fantasy games.
A quick word of advice to PSP owners who are thinking of getting a PS Vita: you probably want to go the downloadable route, so your games will still work on the PS Vita.
