EA’s E3 lineup brings the big guns

EA has revealed the titles they’ll be showcasing at E3 this year, and it’s jam packed with familiar names. In fact, it’s almost exclusively established properties, headlined by Battlefield 3, which EA is positioning as a direct rival to Activision’s Call of Duty franchise. Can they do it? It will be one of the big storylines of the show, but it won’t be the only one at EA’s booth. Mass Effect 3, which can probably already be shortlisted for 2012′s Game of the Year will certainly draw heavy crowds.

Sports titles, naturally, comprise a significant portion of EA’s offerings, with new versions of Madden, NCAA, FIFA and NHL on display.

Interestingly, there’s no mention of anything family oriented. Last year, there was at least a room where we had the chance to preview Monopoly Streets and Spare Parts. Hopefully they’ll have something similar this year.
