Last night’s Superbowl was somewhat of a disappointment. The contest between the Packers and the Steelers was mainly a defensive struggle, making for a less than exciting game. And the commercials were less than stellar this year, with the exception of the VW Darth Vader commercial and the Chrysler Imported from Detroit commercial. And as Greg pointed out earlier, it seems the game companies decided to sit this one out. Or did they? During the commercial for the upcoming family film Rio, which looks like it could be a lot of fun; vigilant viewers were able to spot some ornery avian animals on the side of a crate. At around the 26 second mark, look at the crate which is behind the monkey, and you will see several Angry Birds with the numbers 13-12 underneath them!

If you open your copy of Angry Birds, go to level 13-12, the numbers that were printed on the side of the crate. Shoot your Yellow Bird off into the distance. Shoot your first White Bird backwards, and have it drop its eggs right before it flies off the screen, so that one of them lands on top of the rest of the birds. This will unlock a special Golden Football under the Golden Eggs menu, and when you press that, you receive access to a special level in honor of the new movie Rio! While not a fully fledged commercial, I really appreciate the nod to a great game, and look forward to watching the new movie, and playing the new Angry Birds: Rio when it releases in March.
