Hooray! Finally, news that makes me want to dig out my PSP recharger. Square Enix is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Final Fantary IV by packaging the classic role playing adventure with the well-received but little played sequel The After Years into Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection, being released for the PSP on April 19, 2011.
“In honor of the 20th Anniversary since the initial launch, we are releasing FINAL FANTASY IV: THE COMPLETE COLLECTION this April, 2011. We hope fans will enjoy and celebrate not only the original and complete game experience but the addition of new and never-before-seen levels,” said Ami Blaire, vice president of marketing, Square Enix, Inc.
As part of the revamping for the PSP, the game feature the original story as well as The After Years sequel, brand new scenarios and levels to flesh out the original storyline, all-new 2D graphics and a new arrangement of the soundtrack.
Whether you’re long familiar with the story of Cecil, Kain, Rosa and company, or you’ve never played the game before, I’m going to say this is a must own for RPG fans. It’s not only a great game, but it also marks the beginning of the modern age of Final Fantasy, with a large cast of distinct characters, emotive storylines and grandiose adventure.
I suppose my only question as a PSP owner is what happened to Final Fantasy III on the PSP?
