Earlier this week Nintendo released many of the details people were waiting for regarding their newest handheld system, the Nintendo 3DS. Jeff had some impressions of the device during E3, which you can read here.
The 3DS will launch in Japan on February 26, with the U.S. release date being sometime in March. It will come with the following:
- Charger stand
- AC adapter
- touch pen
- 2GB SD card
- six augmented reality cards
It will have the ability to play games from the Virtual Console, which will now include GameBoy Advance Games. It can also stream TV in Japan. It will retail for¥25,000 (USD$300), with two colors at launch: “Aqua Blue” and “Cosmos Black”.
There you have it. Will the 3DS really launch for $300 here in the U.S.? Let’s hope not, as that price point might be a turn off to some. Hopefully Nintendo paid attention to the PSPGo Launch and learned a few things.
