MLB Power Pros hits an iPhone/iTouch double play
MLB Power Pros, the simple looking but surprisingly complex Japanese baseball title, is now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. While the game features extremely simply blocky graphics and an overall cartoonish appeal, once you get beneath the hood, you’ll likely be surprised to find this isn’t a cheap little shovelware title, but a remarkably deep baseball experience.
Best of all, it’s fully licensed by Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association, meaning you’ll have the real teams and real players to enjoy.
The game features Season Mode with 25, 50 or 162 games in the season, Exhibition mode has single games against the machine, Wireless mode allows for local multiplayer via Bluetooth and Custom Mode allows for the building of your own team lineup. It’s a shame there isn’t on-line multiplayer, but that’s still a fairly solid set of modes, if the Season Mode comes even close the depth of the previous Wii version.
If you’re a baseball fan with an iPhone or iPod Touch, you could probably do far worse than checking out MLB Power Pros Touch 2010, which is now available in the iTunes Store for iPhone and iPod Touch.
