On Tap: Week Of March 15th, 2010

I like weeks like this. Fanbois get their choice of exclusive releases as 360 fans get Perfect Dark on XBLA, and PS3 owners get to thump their chests about the latest AAA release, a little Sony-exclusive you might have heard of called God Of War III. Oh, sorry. No “which version is better” message board battles for YOU this week, nerds. Well, unless of course, you want to have at it over which Lady Gaga Rock Bank DLC pack sounds better. In that case, you’re WAY beyond help.

March Break is upon us this week, at least around these parts, which means lots of opportunity for Oldest Son to sit around playing the DS all day. Great, there’s a fight I’m looking forward to hearing the whole week. Luckily, we’re expecting warmer than usual weather, so Mamajuice (Happy Birthday!) will be kicking the boys outside on a regular basis, if for no other reason than to save her sanity for a little while.

The Playstation Move was made official last week. I kinda wish Sony and Microsoft would stick to their guns and roll with what works instead of trying to copy what Nintendo was (somehow) able to successfully implement. I guess they’re taking a look at all those big casual gaming bucks and deciding they want to get in the action. I’ll say this for The Big N, they remain stuck to their principles. You don’t see *them* coming out with an HD console anytime soon. Of course, that might be because they’re too busy coming up with twenty different versions of the DS, but that’s neither here no there.

Yes, I know I was late this week. Lots of stuff going on, and hopefully I’ll be able to catch up on things here. When you get a couple of days alone with your wife and six-month-old, thanks to Granny taking your sullen six-year-old and insane two-year-old, you kinda gotta take advantage of the piece, quiet, and relative ease of movement. You parents know what I’m talking about.
