A new trailer from 505 games surfaced, giving gamers a glimpse of some in-game footage of Backbreaker Football, due in stores in late April. Featuring the Euphoria Engine, the game promises realistic animations, online and split-screen multiplayer, and full team customization.

I’m somewhat optimistic about the game. I believe there’s a real need for a Madden competitor, just to keep EA on their toes. I like the idea of a Spring release, as it could help garner the game some attention from sports gamers. The video does leave some questions (for example, I saw two passes with QB’s passing off their back foot, here’s hoping that doesn’t happen that often), but also leaves me wanting more.
