On Tap: Week of December 21st

The Christmas Edition! Hope you already got something for the gamer on your list, because you’re not getting much of a last-minute bailout this week. Well, unless you happen to have a Van Halen fan on your list, I suppose. Yes, FINALLY, Guitar Hero: Van Halen comes to retail. Try to contain your excitement. I could write a bunch of sentence incorporating Van Halen song titles, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.

Well, it’s all finished. TV, sound system, etc. Very sweet rig. One of the first games I popped in to check it out was the Bayonetta: First Climax demo. Okay. With Assassin’s Creed 2 and Uncharted 2 coming my way on Friday, how the heck am I going to find time to play the full Bayonetta game when it comes out in early January? So full of want right now. I wasn’t sure how I would like the game with its frantic pace and interesting concept. I figured it would be about the T&A with some action thrown in. Well, it definitely is that, but the action was so much more than I thought it would be. It’s intense, and so ridiculously over the top it’s entertaining. It’s like I can’t wait to see what she does with her hair next.

Speaking of, yeah, you’d better make sure the kids are in bed before you pop this game in. Lots of violence, blood, guns, swords, etc. For good measure, you might want to make sure your wife is in bed too, lest she catch you drooling over the naked hair witch dropping Climax Attacks (how appropriate) where she’s basically naked except for some strategically placed weaving hair. It’s so shameless, yet awesome at the same time. Just not the most family-friendly thing you’ll ever play.

Besides that, Christmas is almost here. And I haven’t done near enough shopping. Nothing like leaving it until the last minute, but that just adds to the challenge. So, in case Christmas shopping keeps me busy, I just wanted to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas, or whatever holiday you choose to celebrate, from all of us at GamerPops and our families. Remember the reason for the season, and if you don’t get that game you really wanted, keep everything in perspective.

Cause there’s always Boxing Day sales. ;)
