LucasArts announces Force Unleashed 2
LucasArts has unveiled a sequel to the best-selling Sith adventure, with the announcement of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II coming in 2010. You will once again wield the force lightning and lightsaber of Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret (and continuity-screwing-with) apprentice, exploring the timeframe between the awful movies (the prequels) and the good ones (the originals).
Though, mild spoiler warning here, given the either the alternate endings to the first game, it does raise the question of how exactly you sill step back into the same role.
“Executive Producer Haden Blackman and his team have been able to build on the core foundation of the award-winning original and create a powerful combination of engrossing story-telling and intense action. The Force Unleashed II gives fans an opportunity to wreak havoc on an even greater scale in the Star Wars universe,” said LucasArts’ President Darrell Rodriguez.
Really? Seriously? As a reminder, in the first game, you used your ridiculously over-the-top force powers to pull a Star Destroyer out of orbit and crash it into a planet. That they are going to ramp up the destruction even higher borders on mind-boggling. Look for more information on the official website at www.unleashed2010.com.
