If you’re musically inclined (or, like me, wish you were more musically inclined), and you have an iPhone/iPod Touch, there’s a neat App on the iTunes App Store that got a recent revamp and price drop that you should take a look at. ZOOZbeat ($0.99 on the App Store until the end of October) lets you use your iPhone/Touch as a mobile music creation tool. By tapping the screen or by shaking your iPhone (the harder you shake, the higher the note, for instance), you can create multi-instrument sequences and even full songs if you’re so creatively inclined. There’s also a Lite version that lets you try some of the functionality for free. I was amazed at how quickly I was able to use ZOOZbeat Lite to make a music sequence that actually sounded decent, and usually all I can play on an instrument is the Meow Mix song.

We’ll have a full review in a few days. ZOOZbeat is rated 4+, and since Oldest Son has shown some interest in music, I’m going to see what he can do with it as well. Or just cut to the chase and download the full-featured version, because at this price, you’ll likely get a lot more enjoyment out of this app than you will out of any of the songs I saw on the iTunes Top 10 Chart today.
