New iPod Touch – Gaming Just Got Better
Among the significant announcements at today’s Apple event was the refresh of the iPod Touch. The Touch, the next best thing to the iPhone, got some capacity bumps and a bit of a price drop. The 8GB Touch now runs $199 US, and is the same as the previous 2nd-gen. However, the new 32GB and 64GB Touches, at $299 and $399 US, respectively, boast the enhanced OpenGL ES Version 2.0 support that the iPhone 3GS received, making it a more powerful platform, especially for gaming. Games will now load faster and look better. Your new handheld console may have just arrived. Oh, and it can also play your music and surf the web through WiFi, too.
